After Kevin Durant Tore His Achilles, Kobe Bryant Had A Message For Him: “Don’t Be A F**king Crybaby”

Two-time Finals MVP Kevin Durant is as tall as a center, yet is able to dribble the ball like a guard, which makes him an absolute matchup nightmare at every position. In addition to this, Durant has the ability to shoot from anywhere on the court while maintaining high-efficiency numbers.

In Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals, Durant hobbled off the field with a torn achilles.

His rehab thankfully was a success and the forward hasn’t lost a step. Durant simply looks like his old-dominating-self, or possibly even better – which is unheard of after suffering such injury at an advanced age.

Kobe Bryant, who also suffered a torn Achilles tendon back in 2013, impressibly returned to the court as well, but it was visible that he had lost a step. Durant nonetheless went to Bryant for some encouragement after suffering his tear and received the most Kobe’esque response imaginable.

Per The Athletic’s Alex Schiffer:

“Don’t be a f–king crybaby. It’s going to be all right. You’re going to come back and be who you are.”

Kevin Durant appreciated the message and said it was good to hear from Bryant:

“When my mind was racing everywhere, it was good to hear from him,” Durant said. “Especially him going through it later in his career.”
