After Three Years, Danny Green Has Finally Received His 2019 Toronto Raptors Championship Ring

When the Los Angeles Lakers won the NBA Championship in 2020, Danny Green became a three time Champion, and only one of four players in NBA history to win titles with three different teams.

But interestingly enough, Green only had two rings until last night, and he received his Lakers championship ring long before he received his Raptors ring from 2019.

While Green was a key figure in the Raptors’ Championship run, he hadn’t received his championship ring until before last night’s Raptors vs Sixers game. Green was supposed to get his ring on March 24, 2020, when the Lakers were scheduled to visit Toronto, but due to the suspension of the season, that obviously didn’t happen.

The Raptors offered to send it to Green, but he politely declined, as he wanted to be in Toronto with the fans and teammates when he receives it.

When the Sixers played in Toronto in this year’s preseason, Green was back in town for the first time since the Championship winning activities. Yet, no ring was handed out as Green and the Raptors decided to wait until the Sixers visit the Raptors in the regular season on December 28, 929 days after winning the title.

When that day came however, Green wasn’t able to receive his ring once again, because he was in the NBA’s health and safety protocols.

But what truly seemed liked a never ending story, has finally come to an end after all, when Green received his 2019 championship ring last night.
