Anonymous NBA GM Believes LeBron James Can’t Carry A Team Anymore

LeBron James is still elite at age 37, racking up 29.0 points, 7.9 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game on 51.9% shooting from the field. But when you look at his season, one does not simply overlook the fact that his team hasn’t been able to live up to their expectations.

Currently, the Los Angeles Lakers own a record of 27 wins and 33 losses that got them sitting at 9th spot in the Western Conference. The LeBron-led team has had their own misfortunes throughout the season, but there’s no excuse for them to be this bad and even sit behind the likes of the Los Angeles Clippers, who don’t even have Kawhi Leonard and Paul George at this point of the season.

The Lakers have been heavily reliant on LeBron to win games and turn their season around, but according to an anonymous NBA GM, the 37-year old Lakers superstar is not that guy to carry a team anymore.

Per Fox Sports:

“I can’t speak for all the other teams, but to plan for a 39-year-old and taking on his son, who I hear is just decent, to make moves for all that, I don’t see it,” he said. “LeBron is still good, but he can’t carry you anymore. The only way I could see doing it is if you needed the box office draw.”
