Anonymous NBA GM Says He Would Rather Give Up Jayson Tatum Than Jaylen Brown And Marcus Smart For Kevin Durant

Although Jayson Tatum is widely considered as face of the Boston Celtics, it was Jaylen Brown who made major strides during the NBA Finals and often made the impression that he was the best player on the floor for the Celtics.

However, showing up in the NBA Finals doesn’t mean that Brown is immune from being traded out of the team. As a matter of fact, the Celtics recently offered the 25-year old two-way player for Kevin Durant, but the Nets declined as they also wanted Marcus Smart as part of the package.

Several pundits and fans questioned Boston’s latest decision including an anonymous NBA general manager. According to this GM, he would rather give up Tatum than Brown and Smart for the 33-year old Nets superstar.

Per Fox Sports:

“KD and Tatum are talented, but I don’t know how tough they are. I know he’s a lot younger than KD, but if you’re just trying to win one title, do you trade Tatum for Durant? I’d do that before I’d give them Jaylen and Smart. Brown is valued a little less than Tatum because he’s not the skill darling. He’s a high level athlete who has developed into a good player. But I have to think Brooklyn would prefer Tatum and you wouldn’t have to give up Smart.”
