Austin Rivers Says Biased Officiating And Illegal Screens Make Stephen Curry The Most Difficult Player To Guard In The NBA

Anyone can attest to the fact that Stephen Curry is just one of the toughest players to guard in the NBA. Curry has unlimited range, can score at will and is able to open up the offense with his incredible off-ball movement.

The numbers don’t even lie for the four-time NBA champion. He holds the record for the most three-pointers in NBA history, has led the league in free throw percentage for four seasons, has won two scoring titles and is just one of the few players to register a 50/40/90 season.

Curry is heavily respected as an offensive threat. That said, veteran NBA guard Austin Rivers thinks there are other factors why Curry stands out from other offensive players. Asked who he thought was the most difficult player to guard, Rivers named Curry because of the special treatment he receives from the referees.

“Steph… it’s not even close… you can’t touch him, they give him every f—— call, they set illegal screens for him the entire game… they don’t call it cause they want to see him shoot,”
