Bill Simmons On Nikola Jokic: “Probably Better Than [Larry] Bird Offensively”

In a lot of ways, Nikola Jokic is showing why he’s one of the top offensive players to ever play the game of basketball. He can score with the best of them, orchestrate an offense, makes his teammates better, and is about as good of a passer as one will ever see. He has utilized his offensive game to the fullest and it has translated to plenty of success so far in his career.

This year, Jokic is just one of the few superstars out there that have been pouring out some masterful performances on a nightly basis. As he leads the Nuggets to a 22-12 record, the two-time MVP is racking up 25.7 points, 10.8 rebounds and 9.4 assists per game on 61.9% shooting from the field.

Amid Jokic’s hot start into the season, famous NBA analyst Bill Simmons took to his own podcast and didn’t hesitate on saying that the Nuggets big man may already be a better offensive player than Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird.

“But there’s something different when somebody just has freak vision, freak everything, and Jokic has it,” Simmons said. “Watching Sunday night was the first time I [thought], ‘This guy’s actually probably better than Bird offensively.’”
