Brandon Knight On The Way Out Of Phoenix?

Phoenix Suns guard Brandon Knight could be parting ways with the team very soon. ESPN’s Marc Stein reported that Knight could potentially be on the move “between now and the February 23 trade deadline.”

The 25-year-old Knight was acquired from the Milwaukee Bucks at the 2015 trade deadline. He later signed a five-year, $70 million deal with Phoenix that offseason.

The Suns opted to start Knight off the bench this season, giving a starting backcourt duties to Eric Bledsoe and Devin Booker. Knight has been averaging 13.1 points on 40% shooting from the field in 23.5 minutes per game this season.

He played just nine minutes in Thursday night’s win over the Toronto Raptors; rookie Tyler Ulis was the primary point guard, making Knight unhappy.

Knight had much bigger role last year with the team. He played 36.0 minutes per game and posted a career-high 19.6 points per game. Yet, It should be noted that Bledsoe suffered a season ending injury at the end of 2015; an injury which opened up a space for Knight.

Should Phoenix make Brandon Knight available in trade talks? If a rookie is taking up his playing time, why not make him available? Some teams would certainly make phone calls to see how they could end up with the experienced Knight on their roster as soon as possible.
