Celtics Present Vince Carter With Amazing Gift Upon Last Game In Boston

In the 1998 NBA Draft, Vince Carter was initially drafted by the Golden State Warriors with the fifth overall pick. But he was traded to the Toronto Raptors for the fourth overall pick, Antawn Jamison, on draft night – the beginning of a new era in ‘The 6ix’.

More than 20 years later, Carter is still playing, and when this current season tipped-off, Carter started his NBA record 22nd season in the league. Not only that, Carter also became the first player in league history to play in four different decades.

Last night, Vince played his final career game in Boston (if the Hawks won’t make a comeback for the ages and somehow reach the playoffs). The Celtics organzation had an incredible gift for the 8-time All-Star. Danny Ainge presented him with a framed photo of his first NBA basket on February 5, 1999 and a piece of the original parquet court from the Boston Garden.

That’s a pretty great tribute if you ask me.
