The hype for Victor Wembanyama has been going out of control for quite a while now. The French standout is universally pegged as the No.1 overall pick of the 2023 NBA draft and has already been drawing comparisons to former No.1 overall pick LeBron James.

With his unique blend of size, length, skill and fluidity, most observers believe that Wembanyama is a surefire NBA talent that could dominate the NBA for years to come. While the potential is there, former NBA superstar and current NBA analyst Charles Barkley isn’t sold on the idea.

As an NBA Hall of Famer, Barkley knows a thing or two about being a dominant player in the NBA. While he hopes that Wembanyama would pan out, Barkley has doubts whether the 7-foot-3 prospect has what it takes to dominate the NBA.

“I want to see the kid play. I hope he’s great because it’s great for our job. But I can’t sit here now just because he is killing people in the Czech Republic that he is going to come over here and dominate. I just don’t believe it.”
