Christian Wood Received Upmost Respect From LeBron James During Their Match-Up

Through his first seven games of the season, Christian Wood has been living up to the hype surrounding his person as he’s been averaging 23.3 points, 9.7 rebounds, 0.9 steals, and 1.9 blocks.

He’s a blast to watch and appears to be everything the Rockets hoped for when they signed him to a 3-year contract worth $41 million.

But even before his move to Houston, Wood had been emerging among the ranks of the top power forwards in the NBA today. He averaged very promising 13.1 points and 6.3 rebounds on 56.7% shooting from the field with the Detroit Pistons, in a limited role last season that led to him being a popular name on the free agent market.

During last night’s loss against the Los Angeles Lakers, he received the upmost praise and respect from the King of the NBA, LeBron James, when the four-time MVP told his teammate Marc Gasol how dangerous Wood is on the boards.

“Hold him. Hold his ass. That guy is trouble.”
