Derrick Rose Made Rookie James Johnson Sleep On His Hotelroom Floor Because He Was Scared Of Ghosts

This year’s Finals MVP Kevin Durant was a guest on ‘The Bill Simmons Podcast‘, and answered questions fans sent in. One fan wanted to know about the best story he has heard about the Skirvin Hilton Hotel in Oklahoma City. Many NBA teams stay in this hotel during their OKC roadtrips, and according to several players, the hotel seems to be haunted.

Durant instantly thought of a story and recalled it:

“I heard D-Rose, when they came his second year in the league, he made a rookie sleep on his [hotel room] floor, because, the year before, he said he felt somebody touch him or something like that. That’s what I heard. So, the next year he made, I think it was James Johnson, it might have been, sleep on his floor. I heard that story. I don’t know if it’s true or not”

At least Derrick Rose picked the right guy. Johnson has a second-degree black belt and is undefeated in MMA and kickboxing fights.
