Did Joel Embiid Just Blame Ben Simmons For The Sixers’ Problems?

The Philadelphia 76ers have been one of the most disappointing teams of the season so far. They started the campaign not only as favorites in the Eastern Conference, but also as title contenders.

With over a third of regular season already played, the Sixers are only fifth in the East and have lost three straight games.

When Joel Embiid was asked what he thought about the team’s struggle on offense to start the season, he took a subtle shot at Ben Simmons:

“We’ve got to help each other even if it means being outside of your comfort zone for the greater [good] to help the team win. Meaning that, if you’ve got to space and shoot it, you’ve got to do it. We need everybody to buy into that and we’ll be fine, we’re going to be fine.”

Ben Simmons’ first two NBA seasons have been one of the best rookie and sophomore seasons in recent history. Everyone who was watching him play, knows that he could develop into a generational type of star. He’s got all the assets one needs to become that superstar in this league, besides a decent jumpshot.

This led to opponents not guarding Simmons’ three point shot at all, at times. In these two (and almost a half) seasons, Simmons has only made two three point shots.
