Dillon Brooks Sounds Off On Shannon Sharpe After Loss Against The Lakers: “Should Have Never Come Back In The Game”

NFL Hall of Famer and Fox Sports commentator Shannon Sharpe made headlines on Friday after he got into a heated altercation with Ja Morant’s father Tee Morant and other Memphis Grizzlies players right after the second quarter of the Grizzlies-Lakers game.

Apparently, it all started with a chatter with Dillon Brooks. According to Sharpe, he told Brooks that he was too small to guard LeBron James, but the 26-year old didn’t take it lightly and decided to curse him up.

“It started with Dillon Brooks. I said he was too small to guard LeBron,” Sharpe said to ESPN. “He said, ‘F—’ me and I said ‘F— you’ back,” he added.

“He started to come at me and I said, ‘You don’t want these problems.’ Then Ja came out of nowhere. He definitely didn’t want these problems. Then the dad came and he obviously didn’t want no problems. But I wanted anything they had. Don’t let these fools fool you now.”

Sharpe had to be escorted by security away from the courtside and was forced to spend the halftime in the tunnel before returning to his seat for the third quarter and finishing the rest of the game.

Dillon Brooks was now asked to share his version of the incident after the game. While he didn’t want to comment at first, the outspoken Memphis swingman ended up saying that a ‘regular pedestrian’ like Sharpe shouldn’t have been allowed to stay in the game.

On the Shannon Sharpe run-in: “I ain’t talking about that. You can ask him. He’s the blogger or whatever he is. I don’t really care about all that. Next question.”

On if Sharpe’s interaction was appropriate for a fan: “A regular pedestrian like him? No. He should have never come back in the game, but it’s LA,” a Grizzlies player noted.
