Draymond Green Delivers Strong Response To Critics: “Some Of These Guys Didn’t Win A Defensive Player Of The Year Trophy”

Draymond Green sometimes becomes an overconfident person, and that is exactly what happened the other week, when he voiced out that he’s the best defensive player to ever play in the NBA.

As expected, Draymond has drawn a lot of flak for what he believes in. He also didn’t just caught the attention of the fans, but also the attention of a number of past and present NBA players, who put up critical remarks against him on various media platforms.

Green encountered much of the criticism on Twitter where fans and players are used to actively engage on basketball debates and discussions. Hearing a lot of noise, Draymond delivered a strong response to his critics, particularly to those who continuously hound him on Twitter.

Per ClutchPoints:

“Probably because I speak up more than they ever felt they could. Some people allow themselves to be muzzled, and I don’t. I think a lot of people envy that. So, that’s their business…I don’t think I’m going to be a guy that sits on Twitter and responds to stuff current players say. That’s usually guys who didn’t quite accomplish in basketball what they know that they could accomplish.”

“So, outwardly, it’s like yeah, I feel good about my career, I feel good about what I brought to the table, but they don’t feel great about how their career ended…maybe they didn’t win a championship. Some of these guys didn’t win a Defensive Player of the Year trophy. Whatever that thing is…They take that feeling of emptiness, and they let it out on Twitter.”
