Duncan Robinson Defends Russell Westbrook From Critics: “The Russ Slander Will Not Be Tolerated”

Russell Westbrook draws plenty of criticism, warranted or unwarranted, regarding his game and lack of playoff success in the past couple of years. With the Washington Wizards failing to make a mark thus far, the criticism and hate around Westbrook has only gotten a bit louder.

Now, Miami Heat sharpshooter Duncan Robinson has caught the wind of the slander regarding the explosive Wizards point guard. Appearing on ‘The Long Shot’, Robinson came to Westbrook’s defense and said he will not tolerate any Westbrook slander.

“The Russ slander will not be tolerated. At some point, you just have to sit back and be in awe.”

I mean, he’s been doing it for so long to which makes it so impressive is just the longevity and he does it everywhere he goes….. And everyone seems to think that he’s done, and he’s washed up.

I think the misconception of pinning it on one player, just because they haven’t been able to get it done from a championship perspective, it takes so much more than that.”

Westbrook has been averaging 21.7 points, 10.3 rebounds and 10.7 assists per game on 43.3% shooting over his past 40 games. The talent looks like it hasn’t left like the critics are suggesting, but it certainly hasn’t translated to wins as the Wizards currently hold a 17-30 record which has them sitting at 13th place in the Eastern Conference.
