Eric Gordon Opens Up About Guarding LeBron James

LeBron James is one of the best offensive players in the history of the NBA. So it’s expected for teams to carry a huge burden and responsibility to slow him down. This time, the Houston Rockets are the team up for that challenge.

James just averaged a triple-double in the first-round series against the Portland Trail Blazers, but things didn’t go easy for him during Game 1 of the second-round series against the Rockets wherein he only collected 20 points and made no baskets in the fourth quarter.

The Rockets may have gotten the nod, but it will always be tough for them to defend James and limit his impact for the rest of the series. Rockets guard Eric Gordon opened up about guarding the Lakers superstar during an interview on Saturday.

“He’s always going to be tough to slow down, period,” Eric Gordon said about defending LeBron James, via Mark Medina of USA TODAY Sports.

“You just have to make him take contested shots and try to make it hard. You don’t want to get it to the point where he’s getting everyone involved and knocking down shots.”
