It’s already a forgone conclusion that the San Antonio Spurs will pick French standout Victor Wembanyama with the first pick of the 2023 NBA Draft. That said, that hasn’t stopped experts and basketball outlets from mocking a trade surrounding the 7-foot-4 hyped prospect.

The Wembanyama hype train has been going strong as the NBA nears the NBA Draft. ESPN now grabbed the chance to take the floor, drawing up an insane trade scenario involving Wembanyama and recent No.1 overall pick Paolo Banchero.

Banchero is the sure thing, and he proved it by winning the 2022-23 Rookie of the Year honor. If he were to get traded for Wembanyama, ESPN suggested that he would have to be packaged with other Orlando Magic’s lottery picks.

Per ESPN:

“Look, we all know how hard it would be to actually get the Spurs to trade this pick away,” ESPN writes. “If you have to do it, you have to swing for the fences. In return for Wembenyama, the Magic would send the 2023 Rookie of the Year and 2022 No. 1 pick (Banchero) as well as one of the team’s lottery selections from the 2021 draft (Suggs). Throw in this year’s two first-rounders and that’s four top-11 selections over a three-year span for the French phenom.”
