Evan Mobley Talks All-Star, Names His Dream Host City For The Event

Last year’s draft class was incredibly impressive in their first year. Aside from number one pick Cade Cunningham and Rookie of the Year winner Scottie Barnes, Cleveland Cavaliers big man Evan Mobley impressed the most.
Mobley, who was selected third overall, was the runner-up for the Rookie of the Year award, played 69 games (all starts) while averaging 15.0 points on 50.8% shooting from the field, 8.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.7 blocks in 33.8 minutes. This season, Mobley has been able to improve most of these numbers with 15.7 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 2,7 assists per game. The best is yet to come for the young big, who has impressed on both ends of the floor.
Today, Mobely will participate in his second Rising Stars Game, but it only feels like a matter of time when he’ll actually be part of the ‘big’ All-Star Game that ‘s being played on Sunday nights.
With last year’s game having taken place in Mobely’s current hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, this year. he was able to travel to the festivities for the first time. During the All-Star media day, I asked the big man about what he preferred and he said both have their benefits. Mobely said while it’s always nice to travel and learn about places, there’s also a certain comfort of going to the Rising Stars Game from his own home.
When I asked him about what the dream host city for his first ‘real’ All-Star Game would be, the Cavalier said that he has to go with his hometown of Los Angles, California.
