Family Matters: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Swaps Jerseys With Nickeil Alexander-Walker

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been on a tear to start the season and looks absolutely amazing. Through his first six games, SGA has been averaging 21.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.0 blocks. He does look like the NBA’s next star.

Last night, he put up 23 points and 8 boards against the New Orleans Pelicans. Rookie Nickeil Alexander-Walker came off the bench for the Pelicans and scored 4 points in 9 minutes, but continued to struggle with his shot. After the game, he nonetheless got to swap jerseys with OKC’s young star.

You see, Alexander-Walker and Gilgeous-Alexander are cousins, both growing up with the dream of becoming an NBA player. It must be exciting times for the Alexander family, seeing both of the two having their dream fulfilled.
