Giannis Antetokounmpo Already Has A Better Legacy Than Kevin Durant, Per Kendrick Perkins

With one of the most dominant performances of all-time in an NBA Finals series, Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Milwaukee Bucks past the Phoenix Suns to win his first NBA championship and Finals MVP, while putting an end to Milwaukee’s 50-year championship drought in the process.

Since capturing the trophy, Antetokounmpo’s legacy has been a constant topic on various NBA-related discussions. While everyone seems to agree that Giannis’ first championship has already solidified his legacy as an all-time great, the bigger question however is how his legacy stacks up against some of the game’s biggest stars.

One name that is constantly being compared to Giannis is Kevin Durant. The Brooklyn Nets superstar has a well-decorated career of his own, but his two rings with the Golden State Warriors continue to leave a bad taste for many basketball fans and pundits.

Now comparing their legacies in an episode of ESPN’s ‘The Jump’, former Boston Celtics big man and now-NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins argued that ‘The Greek Freak’ has already established a better legacy than the two-time NBA champion.

“I pick Giannis… I didn’t say who was the best player, or who was the better player. Obviously, that’s Kevin Durant. When you think about legacy, you think about their story. And you think about basically writing a book and the chapters of their story. Right now, Giannis’ story is way better than KD’s. So, to me, he has a better legacy.”
