Robert Horry Says Only Idiots Judge A Player’s Greatness By Number Of Championships

Robert Horry had the best imaginable career for a role player in the NBA. In his 16 seasons, Horry won the NBA Championship seven times.

He won two rings with the Houston Rockets, three with the Los Angeles Lakers and two with the San Antonio Spurs towards the end of his career. Only six players in NBA history have won more rings than him, but there certainly were more than six players who were better than him.

Horry himself agrees with that and thinks that if you judge a player’s greatness by the number of championships, you’re stupid.

Per TMZ Sports:

“All these other idiots who don’t play basketball and never played basketball, when they say you wanna judge a guy’s greatness by number of championships … they’re idiots.

Here’s the thing that people are so stupid about. They measure great players by how many championships they win. It’s the stupidest thing.

That’s like saying Karl Malone, Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing are not great players.”
