If Bought Out, Robin Lopez Wants To Join The Warriors

In the 11 NBA seasons Robin Lopez has played, he’s always been a very soild and reliable big man.

You exactly know what you’re going to get when signing him. Lopez has also always been appreciated by the fans, teammates and managements in his previous career stops. He only appears to have a problem with NBA mascots, a feud that goes both ways. That makes him an interesting addition, especially for playoff teams.

Lopez, currently in his 3rd season with the Chicao Bulls, doesn’t really have a practical purpose on the Bulls’ roster anymore. The team is tanking, while trying to give their young players minutes and experience.

The big man has $14.3 million left on his expiring contract which makes it tough to trade him. That’s why a buyout would be the most reasonable things for both, the Chicago Bulls, and Robin Lopez. If the two parties were to agree on a buyout, Lopez would want to joing the Golden State Warriors. That’s what he told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

“I don’t think there’s an NBA player that doesn’t want to be on a winning team, a playoff team,” Lopez told Yahoo Sports after Chicago was routed by the Warriors 146-109 Friday night. “I feel like I’m kind of smack dab in the middle of the prime of my career. Who doesn’t relish playing in playoff situations? That’s something very appealing and whether that’s something the organization and myself come together and decide, that’s something we want to work towards with this team, or whether that’s something that’s going to happen somewhere else, I’m just going to keep grinding. I think right now we definitely aspire to be a winning team, and I want to help out with that.”
