Isaiah Thomas Couldn’t Sleep After Meeting Michael Jordan

When Michael Jordan takes notice, you know you’ve made it, and that’s the case for Boston Celtics star Isaiah Thomas.

Thomas is having the best season of his career and has catupulted into superstardom. During an All-Star weekend party in New Orleans on Friday night, Thomas admits Jordan’s praise/recognition for him made disrupted his sleep.

“Michael Jordan, I met Michael Jordan,” Thomas said, according to the Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn. “He said he’s been watching. He said keep killing [it], [but] take the night off when you play us, but keep doing your thing.

That’s crazy. I couldn’t sleep [Friday] night when he said that.”

Thomas was the No. 60 overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and has continuously been doubted over his 5’9″ stature. “The King of the 4th Quarter” has been dominating all season and says he’ll use Jordan’s comments as fuel for the second half of the 2016-17 season.

“That was probably the biggest [deal] is to have Michael Jordan say that about me and that he’s taking notice,” Thomas said. “For sure [it motivates me], he’s the greatest player ever. For him to say he’s taking notice in what I’m doing first off lets me know I’m doing something somewhat right and second of all for him to say ‘keep going,’ that’s what I am going to keep doing.”
