Isaiah Thomas’ Surprise Leaves Little Celtics Fan In Shock

Remember when Thomas surprised a 14-year old boy by playing basketball with him at a park the other week? Isaiah and his wife were attending their kid’s school event and Boston’s point guard wanted to play some hoops with local kids afterwards. Due to a wet court – it rained the day before – there only was on kid on the court, shooting by himself. Thomas approached him.

“I was kind of just like dribbling with my mouth open and looking at him, maybe waiting for him to say something. He was like, ‘Can I shoot with you?’ And I’m thinking, ‘Can I shoot with you? Is this actually Isaiah Thomas?’ ”

Isaiah Thomas once was in this kid’s shoes too and thought it was his responsibilty to say hi.

“I know it means a lot, because I was once in his shoes. I was once that kid at games wanting a player to just wave to me and acknowledge me, so I know that feeling and I know that’s my job now.”

This was the reason the kid, Robbie McNulty, a 14-year old high-school-freshman, was invited to ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’ where he got another huge surprise. Isaiah Thomas may be one of the smallest guys on the court, but definitely one of the biggest when it comes to ‘giving back’…
