The Western Conference has only gotten stronger following a huge trade deadline shakeup that got the likes of the Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers to make major win-now moves.

In just a span of days, the Suns formed a star-studded team with the addition of Kevin Durant, the Lakers got some heavy hitters to push the team back into playoff contention, Kyrie Irving found himself headed to the Dallas Mavericks, and the Clippers added depth to supplement their two superstars.

After a wild trade deadline that shifted a lot of power in the Western Conference, many fans and pundits alike took aim at Ja Morant over his ‘fine in the West’ comments that he exclaimed when asked which team he views as Memphis Grizzlies’ potential roadblock this season.

Of course, Morant isn’t someone who lacks confidence. Though he’s very well aware of the recent changes in the West, the 23-year old Grizzlies point guard stated that he doesn’t care while doubling down on his previous comments.

Per Boston.com:

“I don’t care. Honestly. I said what I said, and I mean that,” Morant said. “The confidence I had when I said that, is the confidence that got us to the point we’re at now, being a top team in this league.
