Jamal Crawford Likely To Join Forces With LeBron James And The Cavs

Earlier this week, Jamal Crawford was traded to the Atlanta Hawks as a part of a three-team deal with the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers.

Jamal Crawford did not want to play for the Hawks and they worked out a buyout agreement. The rebuilding Hawks were kind enough to let Crawford continue his path. This path could now be pointing north. After a long discussion with LeBron James, Crawford now wants to join LeBron and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

According to Joe Vardon, Crawford even is “Cleveland’s to lose” now.

Sources confirmed to cleveland.com that the Cavs were indeed interested in the 17-year vet. A source close to Crawford called him “Cleveland’s to lose.”

The Cavs are millions of dollars over the salary cap, so the most they could offer Crawford is their taxpayer’s mid-level exception, worth $5.2 million.

The Wizards, Timberwolves, and Lakers are also said to be interested. Crawford reached out and spoke recently with LeBron James, which a source said stoked Crawford’s interest in the three-time defending Eastern Conference champions.

Crawford would give Cleveland some much needed shooting power off the bench. The three time winner of the NBA’s 6th man award played all 82 games for the Clippers last season, and averaged 12.3 points per game.

Cavs fans would be in for some highlight plays, by one of the league’s flashiest players.
