Jared Dudley And Isaiah Thomas Compare Rui Hachimura To Kawhi Leonard
While rookies like Zion Williamson and Ja Morant are getting the recognition they deserve, some other rookies tend to play behind closed curtains and are somewhat left unrecognized by the majority. One of which is Washington Wizards rookie Rui Hachimura.
NBA veteran Jared Dudley even called him as the most slept on rookie in this year’s draft class. Dudley isn’t a stranger to talent. On Twitter, Dudley began showing appreciation to the Japanese forward, pointing out his capabilities, at the same time comparing him to Kawhi Leonard.
“Out of all the NBA rookies the most slept on is Rui Hachimura… He’s really a 3 playing at the 4 position.. Has a lot of Kawhi in his game! Super skilled, tough, and aggressive! Wizards found themselves a young Star in the future”

Dudley isn’t the only one complimentary to the Wizards rookie. Particularly, he isn’t the only player who compared him to the two-time Finals MVP. Isaiah Thomas who played for the Wizards earlier this season, also spoke highly of Hachimura. Like Dudley, Thomas also believes Hachimura has a lot of Kawhi in his game.

This season hasn’t been kind to the Washington Wizards. In addition to losing John Wall due to an injury, the Wizards couldn’t register a good number of wins to make the playoffs, let alone become a solid team in the Eastern Conference.
But at the very least, the Wizards have seen a promising player in Hachimura, who could help turn the tables going forward. The Wizards have also locked up Bradley Beal, and point guard John Wall looks ready to go next season. All these factors could make the Wizards a formidable team in the East once again.
