Jaylen Brown Rumored To Be The Centerpiece Of A Potential Kevin Durant Trade Between Celtics And Nets

Fresh off an NBA Finals run, the Boston Celtics are acting swiftly in this NBA offseason. After acquiring then-Indiana Pacers point guard Malcolm Brogdon, latest reports now suggest that the Celtics are now in the hunt for Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant.

The Celtics could very well compete in the Durant sweepstakes as they have an interesting mix of assets that could potentially persuade the Nets into taking the deal. However, one of those assets is 25-year old star Jaylen Brown.

Brown played a very important role in the Celtics’ run to the NBA Finals last season. He was also best player for them during the NBA Finals as he averaged 23.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game on 43.1% shooting from the field in all six games.

Brown however is not safe from any trade talks despite his stupendous efforts for the Celtics last season. As a matter of fact, Brown is figuring out to be the centerpiece of a deal that would send Durant to the Celtics.

Per ESPN:

“The Celtics consider All-NBA forward Jayson Tatum off limits in any trade talks, but Boston is able to construct a package for Durant that could include Brown and as many as three unprotected first-round picks (2025, 2027 and 2029) — and two pick swaps (2024 and 2026). Brown, 25, has two years and $56 million left on his current contract.”
