When Jayson Tatum entered the league in 2017, Kobe Bryant was one of the first to call out that he’s destined for greatness.
Bryant and Tatum then started what became a great relationship between, colleagues, competitors and friends. It was special for Tatum, who called Kobe his idol and his inspiration, when he was a young man.
A couple of years ago, the Celtics star even revealed that he didn’t like the Celtics at all and used to hate the team before playing out there. The All-Star wanted to play for the purple and gold growing up, due to his Kobe Bryant fandom.
After sending a text message to Kobe Bryant’s old phone number before Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Tatum now dressed for yesterday’s practice exactly like Kobe die for his pre-draft Celtics workout in 1996.
