The Philadelphia 76ers received good news when it was reported that Joel Embiid was cleared to play and would make his return against the Boston Celtics in Game 2. While everyone knew that Game 2 wasn’t going to come easy, the game still turned out uglier than expected.

After stealing a road win in Game 1, the Sixers wrapped up Game 2 with an embarrassing 34-point loss to the Celtics. Embiid, who just won the 2022-23 NBA MVP, wasn’t in his usual MVP form as he only put up 15 points and 3 rebounds with no assists on 44.4% shooting from the field.

In a postgame interview, Embiid, who missed two playoff games in this year’s campaign due to a right knee injury, now talked about returning for Game 2 and interestingly revealed the extent of his injury.

“With what I have, I’m supposed to be out 4-6 weeks. I’m not going to be 100% that whole time. I felt pretty good to play… If I would have come back in Game 3, probably be rusty and not myself. I feel like I got this out of the way.”
