Karl-Anthony Towns Hopes That He And Anthony Edwards Can Play At A Level That Hasn’t Been Seen Since Shaq And Kobe

After falling short in last year’s playoffs against the Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves offensive big man Karl-Anthony Towns is surely not going to sit back this offseason and be satisfied with last season’s results.

Towns made the All-Star team last season and averaged 24.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game on 52.9% shooting from the field throughout the year. With a newly-revamped Wolves team, the 26-year old is ready to level up his game to put the team on a better position.

As a matter of fact, Towns is already setting up high expectations for himself and teammate Anthony Edwards ahead of the upcoming 2022-23 NBA season. Appearing on NBA Today, the three-time All-Star hopes that he and Edwards can play at a level that hasn’t been since Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant.

“We need to go out there and play at a level that hasn’t been seen since Shaq and Kobe if possible and do what we do best,” Towns said. “We just need to continue to be ourselves and raise our games all around.”

“I have a lot of work to do,” Towns admitted. “He has a lot of work to do, but we can come together and continuously grow and commit to each other, commit to this organization and commit to winning. We could be right there as one of the best duos. We could be talking about our team being one of the best teams in the NBA and that’s even more important.”
