Kendrick Perkins Predicts Lakers To Trade For Chris Paul In Free Agency: “I’m 85% Sure”

Led by Chris Paul, the Oklahoma City Thunder turned heads with their great play and surprised everyone by easily reaching the playoffs, where they eventually would fall short to the Houston Rockets in seven hard fought games.

The 10-time All-Star had a real bounce back season in Oklahoma City, while continuing to be productive and still being one of the most impactful players in the game at age 35.

Things indeed looked a little different last year though. After a tough 2018-19 season, many called Paul washed and at the final stages of his impressive career. But his trade from Houston to the Thunder turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Paul.

But that one season together could be it. Not only did Chris Paul’s ‘thank you OKC’ message sound like farewell, the Thunder are also seeming to go for the full rebuild.

The rumors of Chris Paul teaming up with his good friend, LeBron James as part of the 2020-21 Los Angeles Lakers have gotten stronger in recent weeks, and ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins now poured some more oil into this fire.

Per Laker Nation:

“I think the Lakers are going to land Chris Paul, I think Rondo is going to be with the Clippers and I think y’all gonna lose Playoff Rondo. That’s the guy I think y’all are going to lose. We all know how great of friends LeBron James and Chris Paul are. Chris Paul has been on record this offseason saying that his destinations are the Lakers in L.A. or with New York,

And I think he’s going to be a Laker. I’m telling you. I can see it happening right now, with him and Sam Presti possibly coming up with a buyout if they can’t come together and get a trade done. I’m like 85% sure Chris Paul will be a Laker next year”.
