Kevin Garnett: Kyrie Irving Didn’t Have The ‘Cojones’ To Play In Boston

Last year’s Boston Celtics were struggling all year long. The team never managed to build a chemistry and act like an actual team, leading to Kyrie Irving eventually leaving town.

When the Celtics recently played Kyrie Irving’s new team, the Brooklyn Nets (Irving did not play due to an injury) Kyrie was booed and made fun of, even though he wasn’t physically present. This led to Irving posting an extremely long post on Instagram, calling out fans, the NBA, the media, and the circus that surrounds it all.

Former Celtic, NBA legend Kevin Garnett now weighed in on Irving’s time with the Celtics and didn’t hold back, implying that Kyrie doesn’t have what it takes to play in Boston.

Per the New York Daily News:

“Boston’s a tough town, dawg. You have to have some major cojones to be there,” Garnett said. “You got to want that. The people want it for you. That’s why Paul (Pierce) is perfect for it. Paul wants the shot every time. Like, ‘You’re 0-for-14.’ And he’s like, ‘I know, but they WANT it.’”
