Kyrie Irving Was Subbed Out At Sunset To Break His Ramadan Fast

Last year, rumors of Kyrie Irving converting to Islam began to spread, before pictures of Irving kneeling before tipoff, made their way around social media.

Kyrie becoming a muslim also includes Ramadan, Islam’s holy month. During Ramadan muslims fast from sunrise to sundown.

While this can become difficult for a lot of people, it’s even more difficult for professional athletes. So when the sun set during yesterday’s Game 2 between the Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics, one of the Nets’ assistant coaches gave a signal to Kyrie, who was then subbed out. Kyrie then went back to the locker room and came back with some food to break his fast.
