League Source Puts Blame On Klutch Sports For Manufacturing Drama Around Zach LaVine’s Free Agency Situation

Zach LaVine is finally entering the free-agent pool in this upcoming summer and is eligible for a five-year, $212 million extension if he chooses to stay with the Chicago Bulls. Being arguably the biggest fish on the market, LaVine’s landing spot however remains to be an open question.

Lately, LaVine’s free agency situation has been bombarded by a lot of noise which mostly links the 27-year old superstar to the Los Angeles Lakers. As one may already know, LaVine is handled by Klutch Sports, which also represents LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

The Lakers had a disastrous 2021-2022 campaign, and will be surely looking for ways to improve their roster in this summer. While a LaVine acquisition cannot be totally ruled out, it doesn’t look much viable due to lack of resources from the side of the Lakers.

With this being a pipe dream for Lakers fans, an unnamed league source believes Klutch Sports is just manufacturing drama around LaVine’s free agency situation to get him paid and raise his profile at the same time.

Per Heavy.com:

“A lot of this is coming from the agents, where they want to not only get him paid but raise his profile at the same time,” the league source told Heavy.com. “That is their M.O. The more drama in the process, the better. No one was talking about Zach. Now everyone is. Mission accomplished.”
