LeBron James And Michael Jordan Dominated Their Competition As Teammates

A head-to-head matchup between two of the most coveted players in history, LeBron James and Michael Jordan, would’ve been a dream matchup for anyone. Unfortunately, their respective careers never overlapped at any point in time, as Jordan retired the same year an 18-year old LeBron was coming into the NBA.

Although they haven’t played a single NBA game together, or against each other, the two players actually shared the court twice. The first time featured a 16-year old LeBron taking part in a scrimmage with Michael Jordan in 2001. The second one happened two years later when LeBron was already a rookie for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

LeBron, who made an appearance on ‘Uninterrupted’s WRTS: After Party’ podcast, went into details about playing with Jordan. He also revealed that the viral photo circulating on social media took place in Jordan’s camp in Santa Barbara where they dominated the competition as teammates.

“That is Michael Jordan’s camp in Santa Barbara,” James said. “We were on the same team then. I was a rookie in the league and I went to Santa Barbara to MJ’s camp and we used to play around 9 p.m. The camp would end, he would let the kids watch the first game around 8:30, and then he’d have all of the kids leave and then we would stay along with the college kids that he would invite to the camp. We would get a good ass run in for about an hour, hour-15. I was on the team with M.J. and we didn’t lose a game.”

Unfortunately, the closest we’ve ever seen these two basketball legends in the same game together was only in a photo. Up to this date, there’s still no available footage of said scrimmage.
