LeBron James Called Out For Lying While Paying Tribute To Takeoff

LeBron James has the tendency to exaggerate or even fabricate stories about pop culture, just as much as he loves reading the first page of books.

Yesterday, before the Los Angeles Lakers’ game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron paid tribute to the late rapper Takeoff with his pregame outfit. James then shared a side-by-side comparison of his look with one of Takeoff’s on Instagram.

“If you know me any then [sic] you know how much I love @yrntakeoff!!” James captioned his Instagram post. “Still doesn’t feel real to me. Rest in Paradise Rocket Man™️!!”

After the game however, during his post-game press conference, James stated that he started listening to the Migos back in 2010 before anyone knew who they were.

“I was listening to those guys my first year with the Heat in 2010. You can ask any one of my teammates back then, they had no idea who the Migos was… I was like ‘I’m telling you these guys are next.’”

This led to NBA Twitter immediately pointing out that Migos’ first mixtape didn’t debut until August 2011.
