LeBron James Dismisses Pressure Of Breaking The Scoring Record, Plans To Play For A Few More Years

After scoring 28 points in Los Angeles Lakers’ hard-fought win against the New York Knicks on Tuesday, LeBron James is now 89 points away from breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time scoring record of 38,387 points.
The scoring record has been held by Abdul-Jabbar since 1984. No one ever thought his record would be broken, yet LeBron is already on the cusp of history. With LeBron averaging 30.2 points a game this season, the 38-year old superstar is now projected to eclipse Abdul-Jabbar in the next four games.
As the Lakers superstar continues to inch closer to such a legendary milestone, LeBron was now asked about the pressure he feels about breaking the scoring record. While giving out a collected response, LeBron also interestingly mentioned his desire to stay in the league for a couple more years.
“I mean, it’s just a matter of time when I’m going to do it,” James on if pressure is mounting as he gets closer to Kareem’s scoring record. “It’s not heavy. I’m not going anywhere. I’m going to be in this league for at least a few more years. I’m going to do it. It’s not heavy at all.”
