LeBron Tosses Pre-Written Speech, Goes Off-Script Honoring Kobe

Last night, the Los Angeles Lakers played their first game since the tragic death of Kobe Bryant.

Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna were among the nine people on board the helicopter that crashed and left no survivors in Calabasas, California on Sunday.

During the Lakers’ pre-game ceremony, LeBron James started out with a written speech on a piece of paper, but after a couple of words, James tossed it and spoke from the heart.

“I want to continue along with my teammates and continue his legacy, not only for this year, for as long as we can play this game of basketball that we love, because that’s what Kobe Bryant would want.”
