Marcus Morris Thinks Clippers Still Were The Better Team After Losing To Nuggets In Playoffs

Before making it onto the bigger stage, it appeared as if the Denver Nuggets would fall in the hands of the Los Angeles Clippers who extended their series lead to 3-1 advantage, which ultimately led basketball fans to hype up the potential ‘Battle of Los Angeles’ series in the next round and assume the Nuggets-Clippers series to already be over.

However, a strong-willed Nuggets team had a different thought in mind and completely spoiled the party, eventually coming back from a 3-1 deficit and reaching their first Western Conference Finals appearance since 2009.

While that second round victory pretty much justified that the Nuggets were the better team, Los Angeles Clippers forward Marcus Morris however fails to concede as he thinks that they were still the better team even after losing in the second round.

“It’s a good start, it’s a clean slate for us. Obviously, last year didn’t go as well as it could, but we’re on to the next year and I think guys are very motivated to come back. It hurt being up 3-1. It’s not about losing, it’s about how we lost,” said Morris.

“I think that’s the biggest motivation for this team. At the end of the day, that team wasn’t better than us, we all knew that. To be up and to lose that put an extra sting in our mentalities, so now we got something to go out and prove. I think for the team, I think that’s gonna be big for us.”
