Matt Barnes Caught On Camera Spitting In Face Of His Fiancee’s Ex

There used to be three certainties in life: death, takes, and Matt Barnes getting into trouble with referees.

After his active career that referees changed to women, something that apparently is still relevant today. Barnes now got into it with is fiancee’s ex, David Patterson Jr., before the 49ers game this past week. The altercation led to Barnes spitting on the guy.

According to reports, David Patterson Jr. had been harassing Barnes and once threatened to shoot the former NBA star. Barnes has since filed for restraining order against Patterson.

Per TMZ:

In the court documents, Barnes says Patterson Jr. “hunted me down and aggressively confronted me.” He said the 37-year-old yelled profanities and threats at him, called him names, and incited the crowd around them “into a frenzy by yelling out my full name repeatedly.”

Barnes added that Patterson Jr. eventually “shoved me, and I was forced to push him off of me.” He continued, “I did not want the altercation to physically escalate further, and out of frustration with him seeking me out and his unrelenting repeated harassment I spit in his direction in disgust.”
