Nate Robinson Talks About Derrick Rose, Says Rose-LaVine Backcourt Would Be Fun To Watch In Chicago

Nate Robinson played for eight different teams during his 11-year career in the NBA. One of which were the 2012-13 Chicago Bulls, that also featured 2011 MVP Derrick Rose.

Although Robinson didn’t spend much playing time with Rose, who suffered an ACL injury, he was still a witness of how the Windy City assassin emerged and quickly stepped into the spotlight.

So when Robinson spoke to Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson of Heavy, the retired NBA point guard was complimentary and stated that it was fun watching Rose’s career unfolds. He also entertained the idea of a potential Rose-LaVine pairing in Chicago, while saying he would definitely pay to watch Rose back in his hometown city. 

I asked Nate Robinson how cool it would be to see D-Rose back in a Bulls uniform and playing in a backcourt alongside Zach LaVine. “That would be fun to watch,” he said.

“Especially the struggles that D-Rose had to come back and play the best basketball. I think over the years, he has been unbelievable. A fun ride to watch, he’s been doing his thing and for a guy to go through so much turmoil, is tragic man. It was just fun to watch his career develop like it did. I know that he would love to come back home in front of his home crowd and ball out again and be a Chicago Bull. I would DEFINITELY pay to watch him in Chicago.”

Rose, despite being derailed by injuries, has found resurgence and has now established himself as one of the most profound point guards in the NBA.

Before the hiatus, Rose was averaging 18.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, 5.6 assists per game on 49% shooting, with the Detroit Pistons.

His name has been popping up as a potential signing for the Bulls quite a few times, but there has never been a clear decision from the front office to pursue their former All-Star point guard. 

The Bulls saw hope in high-flyer Zach LaVine who averaged 25.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game on 45% shooting from the field this season. However, the team continues to struggle to move forward and has been lacking a solid squad to clinch a playoff position.

Both LaVine and Rose have been playing at sensational level of play. Unfortunately, the two players haven’t seen much team success this year, as both of their teams are officially done for the season and won’t be part of the 22 teams that are coming back for the resumption of the season in Orlando, Florida.
