NBA Twitter Blasted Jackie MacMullan For Telling Kyrie Irving That NBA Players Are Team Owners’ Property

Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving has been absent for a while now, without proper explanation of why he isn’t with the team.

Irving also was fined $50,000 by the NBA for violating health and safety protocols when he attended his sister’s birthday party in a club earlier this week, and he additionally will forfeit salary for any games missed due to his quarantine period, which is around $406,000 per missed game.

The six-time All-Star has been very vocal about the social and racial injustices in the United States, and him leaving the NBA, after domestic terrorists stormed the Capitol, could relate back to just this.

When speaking on this situation on Ryen Russillo’s podcast, Jackie MacMullan has put herself in hot water, as she told a story of how she got into an argument with Kyrie some years ago, about the concept of the NBA draft.

When Irving told her that players should have the right to go to any team they would like to because they aren’t someone’s property, MacMullan responded with:

“Yeah, you are dude that’s the way it works, that’s why you get paid millions of dollars.”

This comment expectedly and rightfully caused social media to rip MacMullan.
