NBA Twitter Destroyed D’Angelo Russell For Standing Sideline While Suns Took Advantage Of 5-On-4 Opportunity

The Minnesota Timberwolves were one team that rocked the recent NBA offseason. After a trip to the NBA playoffs, the Wolves decided to shake up their roster by striking a deal to acquire Rudy Gobert from the Utah Jazz.

The package that the Timberwolves handed to the Jazz featured Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Walker Kessler, Jarred Vanderbilt, Leandro Bolmaro and four first-round picks (unprotected first-round picks in 2023, 2025, 2027, and a top-five protected first round pick in 2029).

Gobert, for the record, is a game-changer on the defensive end and is someone who wreaks havoc on the interior as a rebounding machine. The Wolves are 5-7 to start the NBA season, and the full potential of the team is yet to be realized to put it nicely. In reality, the Wolves have played underwhelming.

One of the players who’ve started the season on the wrong foot is D’Angelo Russell. The point guard is averaging 14.0 points on 38.8% shooting and was met with lots of criticism and banter after a huge brain fart in last night’s game against the Phoenix Suns.

In the second quarter Russell forgot to check in during a free throw, leading to a 5-on-4 advantage for the Suns, while D’Lo was standing in front of the scorers table until he realized he was supposed to check in.

As expected, NBA Twitter absolutely roasted Russell for his boneheaded play.
