Nick Wright Uses ‘LeBron Hater’ Argument To Prove Giannis Had A Better Playoff Run Than Jimmy Butler

LeBron James, who recently won his fourth championship, has always been criticized for his negative Finals record. For the past few years, his critics have made it seem that losing in the Finals is worse than losing in the earlier rounds, or not making the playoffs at all.

This kind of argument constantly gets brought up in the ‘LeBron vs Jordan’ debates where LeBron’s Finals losses are held up against him, meanwhile Jordan’s first round losses seemingly get brushed off when talking about his shortcomings.

Using this same argument, NBA analyst Nick Wright sarcastically explained why Giannis Antetokounmpo, who took an exit in the second round, had a better playoff run than Jimmy Butler who now has a 0-1 finals record.

“How much did these Finals hurt Jimmy Butler’s legacy? … I think Giannis came out of these Finals a lot better — 0 losses. A Finals loss the single worst thing you can do in the playoffs, right? I thought he played well, but the legacy just tanks now.”
