Nike Or Adidas? Billion Dollar Boy Zion Williamson Will Spark ‘Biggest Bidding War Ever’

Remember when Adidas and Nike competed in a bidding war after Giannis Antetokounmpo’s rookie footwear and apparel endorsement contract with Nike had ended?

Adidas may have sent Antetokounmpo a truck filled with sneakers, including Yeezys, but Giannis ended up signing a multi-year deal with Nike nonetheless.

Well, there will be a new bidding war starting very soon, this time it will be for Zion Williamson’s first professional deal, and former Nike and Adidas marketing executive Sonny Vaccaro, expects a bidding war for the ages. Vaccaro told ESPN that he thinks that Zion will be a billion dollar guy and the most marketable person ever:

“In my lifetime, I think it’s going to be the biggest bidding war ever done. I would put them all on go.”…

“If Zion doesn’t change, I predict that he will be the first basketball athlete at 18 years old that the world is rooting for to become a billionaire. I say billionaire, very easily. He is going to have an opportunity to be the face of every company and every major corporation. He is the most marketable person I’ve seen, for a lot of different reasons.”

We got a quick glimpse of how important Zion can be for the basketball industry when his shoe exploded earlier this season, leading to the Nike stock value plunging by $1.1 billion.

No matter who Zion will sign with in the end, he’s about to get paid.
