Nike Will Release New Kobe Bryant Sneaker In March

Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna were among the nine people on board the helicopter that crashed and left no survivors in Calabasas, California on Sunday, January 26.

Unfortunately, with tragedies like this, there often are people who are trying to profit from it. I’ve seen numerous new business pages pop up on Facebook and Instagram, that sold cheaply made and profit-oriented Kobe merchandise. It’s a shame, but that’s how it is. 

Nike thankfully did this opposite and that beautifully. Temporarily removing all Kobe merchandise from Nike.com, a search for ‘Kobe’ or ‘Kobes’ on the website will direct you to an in Memory page, that Nike set up.

This though, will change soon, as Nike will be releasing a new colorway of the Kobe 5 Protro, the same shoe Bryant wore during the 2010 NBA Finals, in March.
