No Retirement After All – TNT Signs Charles Barkley To New 10-Year Deal Worth Well Over $100M

It was assumed to be a given that retirement was around the corner for Charles Barkley, who had previously stated that he doesn’t think he’ll re-sign with TNT once his contract expires in two years.

Then, after declining a lucrative offseason offer from LIV Golf, fans were happy to at least have Barkley back until is contract expires.

In a crazy turn of events however, TNT was now able to sign Barkley to new 10-year deal. It did come with a hefty price tag of well over $100 million.

Per the New York Post:

The exact amount Barkley will make is not yet known if he fulfills the entire contract, but it will be well in excess of $100 million and could approach $200 million. Barkley could decide to retire from TV before the deal ends.

With Shaquille O’Neal already on a long-term agreement, and Barkley now too, TNT also re-signed Ernie Johnson and Kenny Smith to new deals, to keep the gang together.

“We’re all a big family — Ernie, Kenny and Shaquille are brothers to me — and I wouldn’t still be here if it wasn’t for them and all the amazing people who work on our show,” Barkley said. “I’m not gonna lie, though, this is a life-altering deal … and I’m blessed to be able to do live television for a living.”
