Paul Pierce and LeBron James are known to be arch-enemies and shared a number of heated battles throughout their careers. And if you’ve been following them over time, you know for a fact that Pierce isn’t too fond of the four-time NBA champion.

Their rivalry dates back nearly two decades ago, and even though it’s been a couple of years since the two players last touched the NBA floor together, Pierce has never missed the chance to throw shade at the 38-year NBA icon.

However, this time around, the Boston Celtics Hall of Famer took a different route and decided to give LeBron a rare praise after the Lakers superstar became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer on Tuesday night.

“Honor to say I had a chance to match up with The GaoT I’ve alway never acknowledged u as King but u Truly the King #lRespect no player in NBA History had the pressure coming in the league to exceed expectations not only have u live up to it but u have surpassed it #allhailtheKing”
