People Around The Lakers Wondered If Something Was Wrong With Russell Westbrook’s Hands Or Eyes Amid His Offensive Troubles

Russell Westbrook landed with the Los Angeles Lakers with such promise, yet he turned to be a big disappointment for the team. Coveted for his explosiveness and ability to finish at the rim, it has not been the same case for the 33-year old.

Westbrook has struggled scoring the ball this season, and oddly, some of his troubles have also come from not being able to convert easy shots at the rim. On the year, Westbrook has attempted 26 dunks and only converted 65% of them. His field goal percentage on layups this season also stands at 54.8%.

Due to his offensive troubles, people on the team and around the Lakers began to wonder if something was wrong with Westbrook’s hands or eyes, ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne reported.

“People on the team and around the league began to wonder if something was wrong with his hands or eyes,” Shelburne wrote. “It’s not often a player makes just 65% of his dunks in a season.

“Sources close to Westbrook insist he has had his hands thoroughly checked by a specialist and that the treatment he receives regularly is no different than the regular treatment he does on his ankles and knees.”
